General Fund giving provides for the day to day operations of the church. Pledges can be made annually to support the general operation of the church.

Second Mile Giving is a special opportunity to give over and above regular pledges. All Second Mile Gifts are matched by the memorial fund and placed in the General Fund. Memorial and Legacy gifts can also be given (and matched) to the Second Mile Giving initiative.

Memorial Gifts can be made as a way to remember a loved one, friend or fellow church member who has passed from this life to the next. Memorial gifts are acknowledged in the monthly newsletter and the family of the person being remembered is notified.

Legacy Gifts are gifts given in celebration of an event, accomplishment or ministry. When celebrating an individual a legacy gift is a great way to show appreciation. Legacy gifts are acknowledged in the monthly newsletter.

Special Appeals Throughout the year there are opportunities to give for special events. Most notably the offerings collected for Poinsettia, Easter Lilies, and Pentecost Geraniums. There are also four All-Church Mission offerings and disaster relief appeals as needed.

Other Ways to Give

Donate Your Time and Talent

There are many ways to volunteer at Trinity and we are always looking for ways for our members to get involved. In no order of priority volunteer opportunities include:

  • Being an usher
  • Serving as a lay reader
  • Working on the technology team during worship
  • Helping with funeral luncheons (serving in the kitchen or providing food)
  • Being part of a musical group
  • Helping in the office, (folding bulletins, preparing the newsletter, special projects)
  • Serving on a Committee or Ministry Team

Investment & Bequest Gifts

Investment Gifts are a way to give to the church without incurring a tax liability on invested funds. Stock that is directly given to the church is not eligible for capital gains or income tax. Many seniors are required to take a minimum distribution on an IRA. If the minimum distribution is given directly to the church from your investment broker, the donor does not pay income tax on the amount taken from investments.

Bequest Gifts The ultimate legacy gift is to continue faithful and regular giving after death through a bequest. In order to facilitate a bequest you will need to make arrangements for this gift through your attorney.  To learn more about specific ways to impact the future of the church through a bequest, contact the pastor or a member of the Assets Committee.
