The Trinity Youth are in grades 7 through 12. This energetic bunch meets twice a month, and they combine relationship building with service to the church and community, exploration of world issues and spiritual growth. Past events have included mission trips around the United States, laser tag and other fun games.

2015 Youth Mission Trip Ten people journeyed to the Black Hills of South Dakota for this year’s Mission Trip. We worked for a ministry called Cornerstone. They are affiliated with rescue missions. Cornerstone operates a men’s Shelter, Women & Children’s shelter, a day care for the children of those going through their program. Cornerstone also provides transitional housing in the form of apartments and they operate a thrift store. It work was all outside and the temperature was in the 90’s. We built a fence at the daycare and trimmed trees and bushes at both the daycare and the women’s and children’s shelter.

It was hard work that was both exhausting and rewarding. We laughed, cried, hugged and ended each day with worship. It was an incredible experience that helped us all grow in our faith while being disciples. The group grew MUCH closer together as a group.

We also went to Mount Rushmore, saw the largest free range buffalo herd in the country, went to a chuck wagon dinner and variety show. On the way home we drove through the Bad Lands. There were five adults who committed time away from family and work commitments to make sure we were able to have a meaningful experience: Paul & Lila Warning, Julie Glover and Steve Hagood were the adults that went along with the pastor. When you have an opportunity, please thank our leaders and ask our youth about their experience.
